Thanks for the comments and support.  I'll be sure to check out both of your websites as well.

Sarah - I would agree that managing a property from a distance would be difficult without a property manager.   If I inherited one that was located several hours from my home, I'd probably use a property manager.  I'm not sure I'd go out and purchase a property for pure investment if it weren't located close to me.  I just like to be able to keep an eye on my investments.

Nice informative post. You have very valid reasons to suggest not to use a property manager. One additional consideration, however is location. For example, Costa Rica property management might be a good idea if you yourself are not located in Costa Rica, or don't speak Spanish or understand the culture. Would you agree?</description>
